- Check your local news stand for issue #69 of the KYOTO JOURNAL, the award-winning, independent journal on culture and literature in Asia- in it you'll find my article on Shaanxi shadow puppet theater and a review of AMONGST WHITE CLOUDS. - This year's Amongst White Clouds screening and lecture tour took me to Yale, Vassar, Amherst, College of New Jersey, Trinity, Brown and Stony Brook University. Some venues filled well over 100 seats! After every screening, a Q/A engaged the audience of students, scholars and other supporters. I sometimes had the pleasure of leading class discussions on "redefining solitude"- a look at common patterns of avoidance and insular behavior in society and the engaged, contemplative life of the Buddhist hermit.
- I am currently fundraising for my new academic short film series on Buddhism in China, THE DREAMING BUDDHAS PROJECT. Titled after Ven. Ming Ying's quote: "A buddha is a human who has awoken from the dream of ignorance. That makes us all just dreaming buddhas." See the link above for: FILMS
